When complex cases require our particular expertise, Vered’s connections and experience allows our team to swiftly facilitate the arrival of patients for treatment.

Prof. Arnon Nagler

President of the Hemato-Oncology Center at Sheba Medical CenterProf. Nagler completed his medical studies at the Hebrew University – Hadassah Medical School, followed by an internal medicine residency and hematology fellowship at Rambam Medical Center. He then obtained a Master’s Degree in hematopoiesis from Tel Aviv University before moving to the US to complete his postdoctoral research fellowship in hematology and bone marrow transplantation at Stanford University Hospital.
A pioneer of non-myeloablative and reduced intensity\toxicity allogeneic transplantations for both malignant and non-malignant tumors, Prof. Nagler has published hundreds of articles, reviews, and chapters in premier peer-reviewed journals, and is the principal investigator of multiple clinical studies, while also holding several patents.
At present, Prof. Nagler serves as President of the Hemato-Oncology Center.
at Sheba Medical Center, and is also a Professor of Medicine at Tel Aviv University. Concurrently, Prof. Nagler is an active member of the European Group for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT), sits on the International NetCord Foundation’s board of directors, serves on the editorial board of several journals, and is the Stem Cell Transplantation Section Editor for the Leukemia scientific journal.
During the past few years, Prof. Nagler’s work has involved investigating strategies to improve outcomes after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) and developing novel treatment strategies for hematological malignancies. His recent work has been on the use of reduced-intensity conditioning before HSCT in patients with secondary acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Moreover, he recently participated in a study investigating the safety and efficacy of a CD19/CD22 dual-targeted chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy for patients with relapsed/refractory aggressive B-cell lymphoma.

Prof. Zvi Symon

Director of the Radiation Oncology Institute at Sheba Medical CenterProf. Symon completed his medical studies at the Hebrew University – Hadassah Medical School, followed by a residency in internal medicine at Hadassah Medical Center. He then pursued an oncology and radiotherapy fellowship at Hadassah Medical Center and Sheba Medical Center, after which he completed an additional fellowship in radiation oncology at Sheba Medical Center with a focus on prostate and gynecologic cancer brachytherapy.
With over 90 published papers and articles in scientific journals under his belt, Prof. Symon currently serves as Director of the Radiation Oncology Institute at Sheba Medical Center and heads a unique high dose rate brachytherapy program for prostate cancer patients, which involves using interventional MRI imaging to determine implant placement. In addition, Prof. Symon and his team are also responsible for the prostate cancer radioactive seed implant program at Sheba.

Deputy Director of the Gynecologic Oncology Department at Sheba Medical CenterDr. Helpman completed her medical studies Magna Cum Laude at the Tel-Aviv University School of Medicine, followed by an obstetrics and gynecology residency at Sourasky Medical Center. She then successfully undertook a gynecologic oncology fellowship at Princess Margaret Cancer Center and Sunnybrook Health Sciences Center, after which she obtained a Master of Public Health degree from McMaster University.
An expert in gynecological oncology and gynecological surgery with over 40 published scientific articles, Dr. Helpman’s particular areas of focus are advanced minimally invasive procedures and preoperative treatments.
At present, Dr. Helpman serves as Deputy Director of the Gynecologic Oncology Department at Sheba Medical Center in addition to her role as an Associate Professor at McMaster University, and membership in the European Society of Gynaecological Oncology, the Society of Gynecologic Oncology, the Society of Gynecologic Oncology of Canada and the International Gynecologic Cancer Society.

Head of the Urology Department at Sheba Medical CenterDr. Dotan completed his medical studies at the Tel-Aviv University School of Medicine, followed by a surgical urology residency at Sheba Medical Center. He then successfully undertook an oncological urology fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and later obtained a Ph.D. in genetics from Tel-Aviv University.
Dr. Dotan, a pioneer in robotic laparoscopic surgery who advanced the diagnosis of urinary bladder and kidney cancer using biomarkers, specializes in complex kidney, prostate, urinary, and testicular cancer cases, and has published over 50 articles in scientific journals.
At present, Dr. Dotan serves as Head of the Urology Department at Sheba Medical Center and is also a senior lecturer at the Tel-Aviv University School of Medicine, Head of the Israeli Uro-Oncology Society, and member of the Association of Academic European Urologists, the European Urological Association and the American Urological Association.

Dr. Jacoby is a recognized global leader in the application of CAR T-cell therapy for leukemia and lymphoma treatment.
At present, Dr. Jacoby serves as an Attending Physician at Sheba’s Pediatric Hemato-Oncology Department, as well as an Immunotherapy investigator at Sheba’s Pediatric Research Institute.

A distinguished expert in the field of pediatric brain tumors, Dr. Yalon serves as Director of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Service at Sheba, and is the recipient of several awards for presentations on cancer research.

An expert in neuroblastoma treatment, in the last several years Dr. Golan’s main research focus is on isolation and characterization of cancer stem cells from various pediatric solid tumors as well as the development of new treatments designed to target and destroy cancer stem cells.
In addition to serving as Deputy Director of Pediatric Hemato-Oncology and BMT Division as well as Head of the Pediatric Hemato-Oncology Day Care Service, Dr Golan is a principal investigator in multiple clinical studies and a lecturer at the Tel Aviv University faculty of medicine.

In addition to leading the Meirav Breast Health Center, Prof. Douglas is the Deputy Chief of Sheba’s Surgery C and Surgical Oncology Departments.

Director of the Pediatric Hemato-Oncology and BMT DivisionProf. Toren completed his medical studies at the Tel-Aviv University School of Medicine, followed by a residency in pediatrics at Sheba Medical Center, pediatric hemato-oncology fellowship at the Hadassah University Hospital, as well as a PhD in genetics and an MHA at Tel-Aviv University.
A renowned expert in pediatric hemato-oncology, Prof.Toren is currently researching CAR T-cell therapy use in relapsed/resistant CD19-expressing leukemias and lymphomas, the effects of cannabinoids on pediatric tumors, the use of cytokine-induced killer cells against pediatric tumors, and more.
Serving as Director of Sheba’s Pediatric Hemato-Oncology and BMT Departments, Prof. Toren’s distinguished career included a stint as Head of the Hematology Division at the Tel Aviv University School of Medicine, and currently sits on the Israeli Ministry of Health Cord Blood Bank Committee.

In addition to heading Sheba’s Jusidman Oncology Hospital, Prof. Berger is head of Sheba’s genitourinary oncology program, director of a translational research lab studying molecular mechanisms in prostate and breast tumorigenesis, and senior lecturer at the Tel Aviv University Sackler Medical School of Medicine.
